As the title says. Just picked up a new GTI and put 160 miles on it. Just started noticing this node when under light boost. It almost sounds like a blown speaker. Any ideas?

Not sure what you are referring to, but I was wondering whether there was a device amplifying the engine noise or synthesizing it? And possibly the noise was an issue with this?

Make friends with someone who has a VCDS/Ross-Tech cable and run a system scan. While you are at it you can turn off the noise maker

The Soundaktor is a fake noise generator bolted to the bulkhead.
Can be turned down / off via VCDS.

I should note that there is obviously always a vibrating noise coming from the Soundaktor, but there is an audible pitch change between 2.5 and 3k RPMS.
