Quick Error Message

So, lately I've been receiving a quick error message in the center display. It flashes up for literally a second or two and then it's gone. It says something to effect of, "Check engine. Please find a safe place to stop and put the car in park".

I'm unmodded so I don't think I've done anything to cause this. Any thoughts?

Car has 36k miles with the DSG.

It could be a fault with the gear selector. I’ve had mine in the shop twice for it and it has now become a recall. We should start hearing/seeing paperwork in the mail in October. I was told to use the parking brake just in case.

It’s gonna be a recall, just wait a month or two.
