Question about my gti

Hello,

I'm kind of new to VW and I've had my gti for a couple of months. It's a 2016 autobahn pp mt and while playing with the throttle at a light today I realized that it would hold the rpm at just about 4K rpm. Now if I remember correctly the DSG does have launch control but the MT does not. Has anyone experienced this before? I tried it with the clutch in and in gear, I also turned the traction control off and same result. I did just recently get a Cobb AP but this does not have launch control available yet. I have done a search and have stumbled upon a few things but nothing certain.

Factory rev limiter while stopped. If you're moving at all you can rev to redline with the clutch in.

Oh okay. So not like launch control where it'll build boost?

Not like launch control.

Exactly, no boost will build be cause there is no load. You could try brake boosting but you'll be slipping the clutch and I wouldn't recommend it
