I don't know what this HDR stuff is.

usually 3 or more different contrasts to the same photo taken a few times then i guess they overlap and make a cool pic.

OP i just got photoshop, no clue how to use it yet but im pretty sure there is a hdr option in there somewhere. why do photographers seem like they are not crazy about over done hdr's? i like the epicness it can bring to photos.

Because it doesnt look real, it is fitting sometimes and I have def done it but on this forum its like most HDRs are surreal. It is making people think that is the the purpose of it when its not, HDR is for when the image has multiple lighting levels, it allows you to make everything look properly exposed and detailed instead of some parts being over or under exposed.
