Prefilling Oil Filter

VWGTI

Ready to race!
Hey guys, looking at my car, I noticed that the oil filter is placed upside down on the top of the engine bay. Having changed a Subaru filter constantly before (so I do know how to change oil), I'm used to prefilling the filter so that the engine doesn't run dry upon first start up (the filter usually is on the botton right-side up on the Subarus). Is this just impossible for this car?

No biggie, other cars are the same way too, Mini coopers etc.. In short it would create a big mess lol.

Not possible to fill since it’s upside down.

The oil pressure comes without any delay after filter replacement, so it isn’t an issue.

It's also not a canister type, so it's not quite as big of a deal. With a canister type filter, you mostly just use the oil to lube up the o-ring on the filter to ensure it doesn't leak.
