Poor windscreen wipers

Does anyone else have noisy/imperfect windscreen wipers?

I fitted my MK4 with Bosch wipers when I had that and they were completely silent. I would have thought that the wipers that come with a new car should be the best but maybe not?

Should I be fitting Bosch to this car too?

Thanks, glad it's not just me, my MK4 was the same but I thought it was because it was just old.

Also, vaguely related: I can't actually pull my wipers up to clean the windscreen - the back of the bonnet stops them being lifted (and I have to be careful not to chip the paint).

Is this also normal? Seems a bit weird.

You have to enable the service position on the wipers to be able to lift the arms all the way out. It's in the owners manual
