BMC filters better than OEM while also flowing better. It's what I use in my car.

It’s nearly impossible to find a balanced review /test of how different filter alternatives filter micro “dust”. If somebody say one brand is “crap” I doubt there is an advanced technical test behind the words…

aFe doesn't have any specs about how well it filters on their website, which is strange. I always wondered how well it filtered. I'll have to do some googling.... although nearly everything is just user reviews, no actual scientific analysis, damn you enthusiasts!

Heh Yeah, hard to find objective reviews with data. Some have decent overviews though.

Diesel Ops had one aimed at trucks but applies in general for the aFe options. I will say for both the first two aFe instructions have said just vacuuming the dry filter will return it to at least 80% efficiency. Blowing it out returns it to nearly full capability. I wasn't doing drag strips for time or anything so I never had to clean mine often enough like that to worry about replacing it.

Mishimoto has a generic dry vs. oiled. Basically they say no real difference beyond maintenance/, conditions unless really racing.

This site might have some info. Haven't had a chance to check it out though.
