Might be 5G0947355D, item 24 here. Might not be right, but for $15 it's worth a shot.
The "easy" thing to do would be pull the door panel and check the light for a part number. VW parts breakdowns might not list it as a separate assembly but you can probably order the part number.

Most likely it is not. My driver side handle (Wiring Diagram L219) has failed a while ago. While doing my ambient lighting I did a quick check, it is most likely permanent part of the door card.
Searching 5G0.947.356 D did not bring up anything at all though that may just be part number of the lens/optics housing. Since the LED is busted, I may just remove it and see if the circuit board has any further info or possible cheap mans way to MacGyver a fix. But no removable connector and a soldered connection leaves me to believe there is no replacement option other than to replace the door card.
EDIT: Looks like "5G0947356D" is the replacement part!
@madwazzabi Your picture is better than mine... but it's not a permanent part of the door card. Just so happens I have just the door trim pieces in my garage, part of my RGB ambient lighting retrofit project.
Search the part number without the "."s... plenty of results. Oddly the 356 is $40 while the 355 is $15... Gotta hope the Left hand door is the one with the broken light .
My local dealer has these things for $8 each, surprisingly cheap. Brown connector goes to the door "grip" light the OP wants, green connector goes to the pull handle light, black connector goes to the door itself, the other end of that harness is the door strip.
I googled 5G0.947.356 D nada, then I googled 5G0947356 D nada again, now I just googled 5G0947356D You'd think Googles algorithms wouldn't be so strict!
So to those who ever needs to replace the driver side interior door handle LED ambient lighting... I finally got mine replaced. It seems that when the door card is assembled, the LED gets put in place before a separate piece gets plastic welded together. Therefore the proper way would have been to buy the LED and the plastic cylinder shaped piece that guides one of the torx screw into the threads in the door panel, break the weld, swap the LED then make new welds with the replacement part. I, on the other hand, removed the cable tape and depinned the connector and just drilled enough material to allow each individual pin to pass through.
