How to power mk6 seat that has been removed from car?

Recently picked up a seat from a 2012 Jetta (same as mk6 golf) for my sim rig. I've got it installed on the rig, but the back rest is almost completely vertical and rather uncomfortable. I've got a power supply (portable jump pack), but I don't know which wires to connect to the power.

I've tried to find a wiring diagram online, but I'm not finding any results.

Any help would be appreciated!

If you could upload a pic of the connector/plug (s) on the seat I could take a look. If it’s like the Mk7 seats, which it probably is, it’ll be pretty clear which ones are for power because there’ll be two wires that are thicker and have bigger terminals than the others in the connector. And probably one will be red so that’ll be the (+)12V and other one will be negative.

Also if it has a yellow plug then I wouldn’t touch that one because it’s probably an airbag and will blow up lmao.

I guess a pic would've been helpful 😅

There are four plugs, I'm assuming for backrest, heater, and airbags.

Interesting, well there are 3 of the thick wires in that large connector. I would just try connecting brown to (-) and red/black stripe to (+12V) and see if the seat controls start working.

Now that I'm returning to it, I think those three wires may perhaps be directional? I'm pretty sure the smaller black housing is for the controls and the larger one goes to the seat motor itself. So it may send power to one of the two large positive leads depending on the direction it needs to be moved. This is an educated guess.

That could totally be it too 👍 Is this a passenger seat? (As opposed to driver seat)

It’s either like you said, one wire is 1 direction the other wire is the other, or one wire is for backrest power and the other is for heater power.
