This is right on point. I would check coolant level first. If the level is good I would check condition. This is the most likely culprit. You MAY be able to back flush the core, but sometimes they’re just too clogged and need replacement.I’d hazard a guess that it might be one of the following;
https://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=286951.0
- a partially blocked heater matrix - not uncommon with VAG cars;

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1780683
- an issue with the heating controls that operate the airflow / air distribution flaps or the cables that connect the heating controls to the airflow / air distribution flaps.

I do not think so, but it may be a symptom. I see you are in Ireland with an older Mk7, didn't these have a Silica bag breakage issue? This could lead to a clogged heater core.Thanks guys for the reply and trying to help out.
I connected up the VCDS Vag-Com and i get a malfunction in the 08-Auto HVAC -- Status: Malfunction 0010
Could that be the problem? The fault it throws is
1 Fault Found:
1048838 - Functional Limitation due to Energy Management
B10CD 00 [008] - -
I have cleared them faults and they seem to be gone now so that wasn't the issue I guess.I do not think so, but it may be a symptom. I see you are in Ireland with an older Mk7, didn't these have a Silica bag breakage issue? This could lead to a clogged heater core.

And yes I'm from Ireland with MK7 2013 GT Model 2.0 Liter
I have checked the coolant and there doesn't seem to me anything. Also 3 Months ago the timing belt/ toothed belt was replaced with the water pump and so was the coolant so i presume the VW Dealer would've spotted that.https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/coolant-silica-bag-to-remove-or-not.361900/
Here is what I was referring to. May be worth a look
