Gopro cameras - Data analysis and video overlays

I’ve come across some very cool software to try out with my GoPro CAMs, saw it in a Facebook advert. I’m new to the data analysis thing so just wanted to see if anybody had used it before?

I like the idea of doing the video overlays, but I’m mostly interested in the data analysis to try and make the most of my track time and master the tracks.

Software is from Race Technology:

Has anybody used this or something similar before?

Do you have any tips for the data analysis, I’ve got the basic idea but are there any top tips of things to look for?

I'm looking to use my GoPro with overlaid telemetry from my OBD port using https://racechrono.com/

A few of my track buddies use this and it looks to fit the bill. They use race chrono for analysis regardless of whether or not they have cameras. It may be worth looking into!

I just purchased Solostorm yesterday - I literally just entered the licence code today, and haven't had a chance yet to play with it yet. It looks like it has similar functions, but Solostorm is tailored more for Autocross (I'm not sure yet how applicable it'll be for multi-lap track events.) https://www.petreldata.com/

One thought - I'd check the GPS specs on the GoPro - specifically the refresh rate. I saw a vague reference that it has an 18hz refresh (which is good), but specs directly from GoPro are kind of vague. If it has a low refresh rate (like 1hz), you'll probably want to get a better receiver. If you do end up needing a better GPS, look for a receiver with WAAS, it'll be more accurate.

Right now, I'm playing with the raw .CSV data from Solostorm (from other people), and am pushing it into GIS software to see what I can do with it - I'm hoping I can use data from different car classes to help design balanced momentum-vs-HP autocross courses.
