The covers do the damage by flapping on the car in transport. I removed my own and it's easy to remove and you can't damage the car by removing it. The zippers also can cause damage.

Only blue ones, no sunroof, no covers. Only hood and roof. Taken in Redlands, 10FWY. Photo taken from my Audi S3 even tho I still drool over the R. lol! I didn't want to wait a whole other year. Lol! My S3 came with scratches too but I don't know if it was from car wash or port, but I saw it way late to complain. Can't wait to still test drive the manual R 2016s tho.
