How do they attach? Need new adhesive? Or does it wedge into something

The rears usually come with adhesive from the factory (at least mine did), none on the fronts. However, they stay secure perfectly fine without it. When I moved them over to my R, I didn't apply any new adhesive, and never had an issue.
