Who's got them? I grew up around pitbulls and American Staffordshire Terriers my whole life, but here in Ontario we have breed specific legislation which outlaws them. Moved on to a Cane Croso a couple of years ago when my last pitty passed.

How do you dog proof your ride? I have an amazon cover for the back seat which works fine, but he's a big boy with loose jowls and gets his drool on the cloth on the arm rest, and back of the head rests often. I found this Sonax product to work wonders on the cloth seats:

I've got a little terrier mix, we don't know exactly what she is, rescued her 4 years ago...she was a stray puppy in New Orleans so we named her Nola. She loves car rides, but is a bit annoying and refuses to sit anywhere else except my lap

He doesn't go in the mk7 very much. It's only when absolutely necessary and all I do to prepare the car is put the back seats down. When I had my mk6 I had a rear seat delete for it and I would toss one of his giant beds into the back, but that introduces so much more dog hair into the car.

When he was a puppy I would let him sit in the passenger seat up front and it took a while to get him to stop trying to go to that seat. Even if someone was sitting in that seat, he didn't want to be in the back, he'd find his way up front and on their lap.

I wasn’t a dog person until we adopted our first dog in 2014. She was a fantastic dog. A chihuahua/min pin mix who would ride in someone’s, other than the driver’s, lap. She was 12 when we got her. She was always pretty chill on car rides until the car stopped. She was never happy when we weren’t moving, but was fine as soon as we started rolling.

We rescued two chihuahuas after she went to the great doggy bed in the sky and we tried the same thing not accounting for the vast difference in age and energy. My wife found a seat for them to strap into. Once it got all adjusted it works great.
