Boost Gauge

What are you guys running? I searched and pages worth of for sale ads came up. Advantage of P3 or waste of money, OSIR, other vent pod and what gauge? Mechanical or electrical? etc..

Sorry I know this has probably been asked/posted 10 years ago.

P3 is the most OEM looking imo but can be pricey new. I would buy a used one though.

I had a OSIR and didn’t like it. Now I have New South Vent Pod and gauge and love it!! Looks like it could possibly be OEM if VW let loose a little ?. I picked it up used on eBay for a great deal.

I have a slight preference for the analog needle style and went with mechanical over electronic because that’s what was selling used. Podi makes a nice stepper motor style.

I wasn’t either. I let eBay, Craigslist and the classifies section make my decision. It was either P3, New South or Podi.

The gauge I got was actually for a Jetta because it doesn’t have the red line but I didn’t care. The Vent Pod was for a Jetta also so I just sold that on eBay and picked up a used New South Pod. So keep that in mind too if you go used.

What'd you use for the boost tap? I just saw the NS kit came with some rubber hose, clamps and a plastic fitting.

NewSouth redline gauge with APR boost tap here. Been in for a few years and zero complaints.

I just have a single barb adapter one that goes between the PCV hose and the intake mani (don’t know brand, it’s silver). I think Spulen and 034 is the style.

Got some of this in 4mm diameter. Need more then 5 ft.

Then got some small filters off eBay to keep oil from getting to the gauge.

That's pretty clean.. I was thinking about maybe an A pillar type. I really don't want to take up the vent space with a 2 1/16 gauge. I need that A/C right in my face when it's 105* outside

A/C still works perfect on both vents.

OSIR does make a Pod Mount that goes under the HVAC controls. The Vent doesn’t block the air too much.

That one looks pretty nice. Do they have night time pictures to see how it matches the OEM gauges?

Yea they have a pic under the kit with the vent mount.. Which I just noticed is cheaper than the gauge by itself. Haha..
