I don't think so. Using Spain as the constant, the 2013 pole position was a 1:20.7, 2016 (last of the narrow hybrids) was 1:22.0. Furthermore, the 2020 Merc did a 1:15.5 (damn) and this year was a 1:18.7. If we go back to 2007, pole was 1:21.4.
