It's been fantastic - does exactly what it says on the tin - if you look in the dragy thread in the gti vs section of the forum you will see some times a few pages back, 0-60 5.4 I think 13.76 best quarter mile I managed and a 0-130 run in there too. Basically it brings your car up to stock golf r sort of power levels and especially if you've got a performance pack version, you could argue it effectively gives you a 2wd 'R lite'.

Away from flat out hooning around it drives really well through the Rev range, a really usable boost vs stock part throttle.

The dsg tune as well I like a lot, especially getting rid of hesitation off the line coming out of a tricky junction for instance. In D it's doesn't change up quite so eagerly in part throttle situations (but will still hang onto to 6th once you get there for economy purposes. And of course it's great knowing what gear you are in.

Really looking forward to giving the v2 tune a go and will be posting more dragy times when I get it done

thank you sir, I appreciate the feed back!!

No worries. I see the times are now in a spreadsheet on the dragy thread, mine are on there 13.70 quarter mile it was, which I was well happy with just on a back road in the boonies doing nothing other than launch control and mashing the gas. Very repeatable too, a few other runs were very close.

Hi Arin, I'm interested in squeezing some more power out of my GTI but I'm a bit confused by all the options. I haven't had any kind of software change done before so please bear with me if the questions seem stupid. I have a brand new GTI MT with less than 1,000 miles on it. I love the car but would appreciate more power while retaining the same usability. I use 91 octane fuel anyway, so what would you recommend for me? I don't plan on changing any hardware and I don't want to run into any reliability issues. Is this easy enough to do myself or would it require a visit to a specialist?

By the way, the stalling issue came as standard on mine too. Along with a few others that bought from my local dealers in Texas, my car's cam position sensor magnet was replaced and the fault has gone.

I'd go with APR Stage 1, 91 octane, low torque. Just visit an APR Dealer: www.goapr.com/dealer/ and they'll flash it to your ECU.

Fantastic. That seems like an easy fix.

GIAC sounds like they will be a bit of time longer, as the ecu they have coming for an R is on the way from Canada. They will at least have the flash at home option... which I am struggling with when thinking with going APR.

Yup, the new tune is optimized for 87. Power was essentially the same, but with higher octane you'll fair a little better. Launch control depends a lot on the tires you have and the road surface. It may be worthwhile to try it out and see if you need to change it at all. We've played a lot with the power delivery to help with wheel spin.
What can we expect with APR Plus with 93?

Not sure it's been mentioned, but EQT is tuning the 2019s now. That's who I went with.

Now that I've had a while to drive the 2019 Rabbit Ed with my APR Stage 2 High Torque tune, wanted to add some additional observations:

How hard the car pulls in the upper RPM ranges is crazy. It just doesn't stop. I'm used to my MKV that pretty much fell on it's face in the upper RPM ranges due to the small turbo. I'm not sure what voodoo APR is doing here, but it feels like there's a bigger turbo on it. Triple digits in no time.

The overall driving feel/response is much more enjoyable. Even when driving part throttle, it's just linear and OEM feeling, yet it makes some fantastic sounds if you have an intake. I DO get the "Chu-chu-chu-chu-chu" surge noise when I roll off the throttle at med RPM's. Seems to happen most when I let off approx around when the cam lobe switch ("VTACK yo") kicks in. Arin has assured me this is nothing to be concerned about, and if that's the case, doesn't bother me.

I've found that I can make the car "pop and crackle" mainly when free-reving only up to 2-3k rpm. If you rev much higher, it doesn't seem to crackle as much. Took me a while to figure that out, as I was reving it up to 4-5kish trying to make it crackle. No complaints, just an observation.

I've gotten quite a few jaw-drop looks and thumbs up since the tune when I pass cars that normally a stock GTI wouldn't. Very fun tune, thanks APR!

Also of note: No stalls here. Running 0W40 Mobil1 plus some Liquimoly MOS2 additive since 500miles. Around 3000miles total on the car.
