I know this has been discussed plenty before, but want a quick sanity check. Gonna finally replace the factory tires on the stock 18x7.5 Dallas wheels, likely with Conti DWS06s. Would you stick with 225 or go up to 235? It's a city daily driver on some truly terribly maintained roads so it sees its fair share of potholes. I've read that the extra width can be an asset here, as well as with helping guard some against curbs. But also have read handling can suffer and it may be too stretched so curious what everyone thinks.

Assuming you are talking about a 40 series tire I definitely would not go 235. I know people do it all the time but the minimum wheel with is 8.0" for a 235/40R18.

I run 225/40 DWS06+ on my OEM wheels. Looks and drives fine, doesn't appear stretched.

I ran the same size Michelin PS4S on a 18x8 wheel and they were also fine and did not appear to be stretched, even though I had considered going up to a 235 for those wheels.

Appreciate the feedback, thank you both! Ended up going with 225s, having them installed Thursday 🙌
