Will this fit my golf 1.8t? I plan on lowering on eibach sportlines... About a 1.8' drop.

Will this fit and what size tires should I get in order to avoid rubbing?

I would recommend a more conservative fitment for a springs only car. 18x8 or 8.5 +45 with a full sized tire.

There isn't much of a difference in poke if you run an 18x8 et35 vs. 18x8.5 et45. Depending on the tire size, you're looking at 3.7mm or .145". That would be the same tire on each rim (235/40-18). It actually gives you 16.4mm more room on the strut side. This would all be for the front.
I've definitely seen people running 9" rears on the Mk7. One guy is running the following specs at all four corners: 18x9 et29 215/40/18 with 1" spacer on rear and -3.5* camber. 0* camber up front. Planning to remove the spacers soo and rebuild rears with an inch bigger lip.

Judging from what I have on my car (8.5, +35 w/225/40's), I think a 8/9 +35 combo will be about totally flush both front and rear. My car has a little poke at the front and is a little less than flush rear.
