16" wheels with GTI brakes?

I'm thinking of upgrading to GTI brakes on my TSI with 16" wheels. Will my wheels fit? I guess another way of asking this is will 16" wheels fit on a GTI?

Aren't the GTI and golf sharing the same brakes? I thought only the PP has larger brakes (which will not fit 16" wheels).

Or am I wrong?

Calipers and pads are the same, but the GTI has a bigger rotor (312mm).

Any 16" VW OE wheel designed for Golf/Jetta/Passat/A3 will clear the 312 mm brakes.

GTI brakes under 16" wheels. I think I'll paint the calipers black.
