If you hear rubbing, do the mod. I doubt you'll need it with your set up. I have 235/40 on 18x9 wheels, lowered about 1" and I do not have any rubbing yet.

17Z and 18Z are one piece and they mount directly to the knuckle. The ones in the pictures have an adapter bracket, and the shape is very different. These are 17Z from my old Audi A3.

Those pictures don't look like 17Z or 18Z calipers.
