Just letting you guys know - it's about 1 year later (less than 10 000miles) and my thermostat housing is leaking again....(Part no 06L 121 111M)
This is a real terrible design flaw from Volkswagen!!
Sorry for reviving an old thread - I thought I'll just add my experience.
So I have a 2016 Golf GTi Clubsport with 75000km / 46600miles with upgraded IS38 turbo and all the goodies. Making around 420-430whp & 550nm-570nm depending on the dyno.
But before I installed the upgraded hybrid IS38...
Ok so I’m trying to see if there is any difference between new thermostat housing vs old thermostat housing
06L 121 111M (new) vs 06L 121 111H (old)
The only thing I noticed is that the left hole is blocked off?
Other than that, I can’t see any other differences / improvement.
I really hope...
Yep looks like revision M is the latest / solution
Edit: Ok So I just went to our local VW. Latest revised part number for the thermostat housing is 06L 121 111 M (Revision M). Workshop manager said it definitely sorts out the issue once and for all. Apparently more plastic surface area around...
My ride, 2016 GTi Clubsport, thermostat housing leaking as well at 68000km (around 42000 miles). All our VW’s here in RSA comes with 3 year / 100 000km warranty. Guess what, my warranty expired in end of Aug 2019 and 3 months later the water pump/ thermostat housing is leaking. One option is to...
