I joke, I really like them. Its a really good contrast with the blue Golf R. Not ostentatious, subtle but different than the herd. If a photo is worth a 1000 words, hopefully my 25 words is worth 5% of a photo? I will upload one eventually.

With the 245/40r18 I was able to revert back to the original shock adjustment and have better road compliance with 40psi tyre pressure .

As an aside, I am really liking the ride with a 245/40-18 over the stock 235/35-19. Its way more compliant on real world road surfaces due to resulting profile and increased air volume. I'm not sure if I will go 245 again on an 8" wide wheel as they are a bit squirmy due to being slightly bulged out. They have good lateral grip once you are leaning on them hard, but initial turn-in precision has taken a perceptible hit. That balloon profile is also what gives it a great ride, it looks like a rally car, and has fantastic bite in straight line on launch. Everything is a compromise.

How many miles on your PS4S? Michelins seem extra squirmy the first 500 miles or so. I always feel like I made the wrong choice until they get worn in and then they feel good.

Even on my 8.5" rims the 245/40r18 ( 98mm side wall )has more movement on the rim on turn in than the 235/35r19 ( 82mm side wall ) ,but on some local B grade twisty roads I've noticed the 245/40 seems to keep more contact on the road compared to the 235/35 which felt like it was skipping sideways more . Either way I need to get more k's up on the twisty's .
A 245/40r18 on a 9" rim is probably the best option ?

Just bought a set of 18x8" Motec Ultralight MCR2 for my GTI. Going to be my summer set, probably with 235/40-18 Michelin PS4S or PS5.
Weighed them, and they weigh 8,5kg/ 18,7 lbs, just as advertised by Motec.

Update, I went with the new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires in 235/40-18. Total weight 18,7kg / 41,2 pounds.

Feels alot lighter to carry around

I was this close to pulling the trigger on these and a set of ps4s in 235/40.

Instead I went with 18x8 neuspeed rse10, and will use the 225/40 ps4s I have at home until they're worn out. I'm worried I won't like the slight stretch and will opt for 235s anyway though. The 245s look good as well, do you have any rubbing? Using any spacers? I ordered a 10mm for the rears.

It's so tire dependant. 255 RE71R's fit on 8.5 perfectly. V730 pinched a little. RT660, pinched A LOT.

All same exact size.

It was a difficult decision for me as well. I could have had the Enkeis and 235/40 ps4s for about 25% more than what the RSE10 alone go for. But I already have a like-new set of ps4s in 225 at home from my stock wheels. I have them up for sale so I can go with 235s instead (and be happier with the appearance), but if they don't sell I'll just deal with it and run them for a while. I would have gone with an 8.5 wide with 245s but I am slightly lowered and the car is daily driven in NYC.

I also considered the Enkei TS-10 in addition to the TS-V. I do like that the Neuspeeds are 57.1 hub bore and accept ball seat lugs though. Not sure how they compare the the Enkeis in terms of strength, but they are both flow formed and of similar weight, so I guess I will just have to see.

Thanks mate it's only taken 7 years to get a set . The 19's Cadiz look good but the roads are just shite.

$299.99 US That’s the kit with locking wheel bolt . To satisfy my insurance I needed a locking nut or bolt .

Hub rings and incompatibility with stock wheel bolts annoy me. Does anyone besides Neuspeed make a 17" wheel with 57.1mm centerbore that takes stock bolts? I have 17x8 Neuspeed RSe16 now but am thinking about getting something else., still no more than 8" wide.

Oh, maybe not "anyone", but anyone who sells wheels for no more than $350 ea. (preferably less)
