Hey guys - I'm kind of new to the boards. I read and read and read... and from what I understood, there is an extremely widespread response to what I am looking for. I would love some insight if people are willing to give me a hand with this one. So I'm looking to go to some coilovers pretty soon (haven't made up my mind yet) and some new wheels. The rule of thumb that I've always heard when it comes to wheels on the MK6 or Mk7 is Stock height / springs, 19" and Bagged/coilovers 18". I'm looking to get into some AvantGarde M220 in 18x8 et45 - not sure what to wrap them on. I'm trying also to figure out if I will need to roll/pull fenders. I have a fender roller from my old cars and heard that VW metal/paint is actually pretty decent for when it comes to rolling, unlike Subaru (especially with their pearl colours, which tend to crack).
Anyone have any issues with coilovers/18" wheels set up in that spec? I think 225/45R18 fit on that wheel set-up as well (which is what the GTI comes with). Anyways, from a VW noob to the experts out there, any insight is helpful! Thanks!
