So I got a CEL light on this past weekend, scanned it with Torque, then cleared it, then it popped back on after. So scanned with VCDS and the detail was:

Anyone seen this before? Booked time with the dealer on Friday to check it out. The car doesn't seem to be running any different, and I've had the light go away automatically without me clearing it. And it does not actually come on during driving, always after shutting off the car and then starting after. No warning message or anything. Oil and water temp seems normal. And not spotting telltale sign of the MK6 waterpump failure of dried coolant or low fluid level....

So dealer checked it and confirmed its thermostat and apparently the whole thermostat/waterpump needs to be replaced under warranty....

Well this is right on schedule as my MK6 as my first waterpump on the MK6 was 25k miles....lol

Better now than outside of warranty. That being said I hope its more of an anomaly than the status quo.

My mk4 Jetta also had water pump problems with the fins breaking though.

these water pumps and thermostat housings are different designs than the mk6, good thing that they can be replaced separately . I've had to replace a thermostat on a MK7 golf with 1500 miles on it before.

The MK7 DEFINITELY doesnt suffer the same waterpump issues as the MK6. Granted, you're experiencing a water pump issue. But that would be the 2nd time i've ever heard anyone say a thing about their waterpumps in the 2 years ive been using this forum.
