APR Stage 1 Tune + Muffler Deletion... anyone have sounds of this outcome??

I am about to have the APR Stage 1 flashed on my car and wanted to do something else extra to bring more sound. I'm not interested in dropping major cash on a full cat-back exhaust. Does anyone have this setup already and what does it sound like? Looking for sound clips and/or videos.......

I don't have the tune, but it sounds really nice with the muffler delete. Accelerating through 1600 and ~3000rpm it gets kinda droney but other than that it is totally non-offensive. On full throttle it sounds great, with no rasp; a refined low-pitched, yet boomy-ish sound. It kinda reminds me of a V8(but of course it's a 4 cyl)

I'm going to try to record the sound at some point soon but who knows when I'll actually get around to it...

I found someone else's video of a muffler delete that represents the tone of the exhaust pretty well. Mine sounds pretty much just like the video, but in reality it's a little bit quieter since this video was recorded right next to the exhaust tips

I have a muffler delete and a catless downpipe. The video listed above sounds about the same with mine being a bit more raspy but honestly its the same sound level

Just came across this thread. Not sure which direction you decided to go, but thought I'd offer my input. I am APR Stage 1 + Muffler Delete and I really like the way it sounds. Not overly loud but much better growl at higher RPMs/WOT. I have never had anyone complain about the exhaust volume while riding in my car including my parents, girlfriend, and multiple others. There is no drone whatsoever (that I have noticed). Good luck!

I just installed a GTI catback to replace my muffler delete exhaust and tbh I kinda prefer the evenness of the volume with the stock catback. The muffler seems to prevent the drone at 1500-1600 and also around 3k. However I do miss the nice tone it had with the muffler delete. I also ran the car with an open downpipe shortly and it droned BADLY, so I don't recommend that lmao

I guess it's possible the piping the shop used for my muffler delete was the wrong size and resonated as a result but I think it was mostly just the absence of the muffler that caused it to drone

I have unitronic stage 1 with muffler and resonator delete, I record a video when I get home from work if you want to hear it.

I never ended up putting the muffler delete into production because it cost more than a catted downpipe to build, they sound almost the same, and doesn’t provide the extra 20-30hp a downpipe will.

I’ve installed two downpipes in the last week on bone stock cars. Neither of them have had a CEL thanks to the Vibrant o2 spacer I recommend ($36)
