Road Trip - CT to Key West FL

Drove the GTI on its first extended drive this week. Went from Connecticut to Savannah GA then to Key West. The GTI was awesome. Very comfortable. Even the 2 terriers loved it!

Yes, in Key West now. Averaged 33 mph at 80 mph according to the GTI computer. Wish the GTI had a larger fuel tank.

Last year I made a similar trip from NYC to Orlando on a MINI Cooper S supercharged and I made it with a total of 28 Gallons average speed was about 75-80 MPH it was great to drive the Mini on roads without potholes lol

Keep an eye on the oil level if you're driving long distances -- the US-spec cars don't have an oil level sensor, only oil pressure. You don't want to find out that you're low on oil from a CEL.

The car does indeed have an oil level sensor, it comes on when you are about a quart low, which is still a safe amount of oil.

Getting 35.7 mpg actually. That is with the ac on and fully loaded with luggage, 2 dogs and 2 people.
