Just put on a pair of 225/45R17 Michelin X-Ice Xi3 winter tires.

What's the correct pressure? Assuming it's not 37psi as the door sill indicates.

I am not sure and could be wrong but I don't think there is a relation between size and pressure. The engineers have calculate what is on the door sticker for optimum wear, comfort and control.

My 2 cents

Thought I read somewhere that you should run winter tires lower like 33-34psi, though I could be wrong. I just got some 225/45/17 Continental WinterContact Si tires on some 17' Advanti DST Storm S1 wheels yesterday. Hopefully someone can confirm what the proper psi should be as I am curious as well.

From another of my posts:-
Just watch your tyre pressures.....because air contracts with the cold ( & expands with heat) the rated pressures are based on 20C.

So if car outside & 0C then you need to set to a lower pressure so that when the tyre heats up to 20C it is correct & therefore correct for hotter temps also.

I usually deduct 0.1 bar per 10C difference...
So say 2.0 bar = 20C

10C = 1.9 Bar
0C = 1.8 bar..

my MK7 Golf Estate (GSW) 225/45 17" rims are 2.0bar (29psi) @20C front and rear. for normal 1/2 load from VW data sticker on door sill

so therefore:-

10C (50F), 1.9bar (27.5psi)
0C (32F), 1.8bar (26.1psi)
-10C (14F), 1.7bar (24.6psi)
