they're held on with double sided tape - use dental floss to slide up either side and they should release...although dealer just did the 66HS recall on mine and damaged them getting off. But if you don't want to have them anymore shouldn't be an issue.
I've just fitted the SRS-Tec - I've got the OEM black underside though which they've painted white on their example.

This is funny as I've been looking to buy those for my mk7 TDI and can't find them anywhere. Just wondering, why do you want them gone?
