recommendation for an "all-in-one" lens

I am looking to purchase an all-in-one lens. been looking at either the canon 18-200mm lens or the tamron 18-270mm.

has anyone have any experience with either lenses or can recommend another? thanks

What do you shoot?

I'm a Canon shooter, but I've always drooled a little over the 18-200/3.5-5.6 with VR. Seems like a nice, solid, does absolutely everything lens. I'm a wide angle fan, so that paired with a nice ultra wide like the 10-24 would be tits.

Although Canon now makes the EFS 18-200/3.5-5.6 IS as well. Haven't heard if it is as good as the Nikon or not.

Sadly I have no experience with either. My EFS 10-22 practically never leaves my camera.

I have the Canon T1i. The reason am looking for an all in one lens is because I will be going on vacation soon and I don't want to carry around multiple lenses. I need a wide angle and zoom for wedding shots.

Honestly, I don't like to travel with my dSLR.

If you're a pro/semi-pro shooting weddings, you won't be happy with anything I posted.

Not at all. I am a novice. I just recently got my camera over summer. Still in the learning stage.
