Answering my own question, looks like the wheel in 18x9+46 is about .2lbs lighter in VS-5RS. I just wanted to find another reason to help justify spending $2k on a 4th set of wheels I don't have room forAsking the questions that matter, but won't make a difference to my lap time, but will make a difference for my back
Which will weigh less, an 18x9 VS-5RS or an 18x9 SM-10RS?
The 18x9" ET42 VS-5RS will need a 3mm spacer to clear the Brembo 350mm 6-pot GTS kit.
We haven't done any testing on the wilwood side for VW. Do you happen to have a .PDF to-scale template of the kit in question? If so, please email that to geirsen@apexraceparts.com and I can run it by our engineering team to check clearances.

Geirsen, I forwarded your information to Peter at 529innovations, who developed the wilwood kit four our cars. He has pdf to scale templates and emailed you. Were you able to get in touch with him?

I just got the email from Peter with the template. I will run it by our engineering team and post the results here. That said, it looks like there are a few different rotor sizes listed for this kit. Would you be able to confirm what specific rotor size you plan to run?

Thats good to know! I have been waiting for the 18x9 vs5rs and was looking to run the 370/380mm rotors. Any info would be appreciated.Following up!
I had our engineers go ahead and test the 340mm version of the kit, since 370mm and 380mm rotors won't clear 17" wheels. Using the 17x9" ET42 VS-5RS, there were no clearance issues whatsoever, so you will be good to go with that setup using a 340mm rotor.

My brakes are 357x34, of course with a two piston floater.@APEXWheels
Geirsen,
Could you please forward these templates to the engineering team? Re: https://paragonbrakes.com/track-per...035-6-piston-golf-gti-golf-r-mk5-6-7-8-front/
I'm personally curious if the 355x32mm kit fits the 17x9 wheel options.
Thanks!

so a totally different caliper and rotors fit? thanks, exactly what I askedMy brakes are 357x34, of course with a two piston floater.
I did say exactly that, just pointing out that there's at least a chance.so a totally different caliper and rotors fit? thanks, exactly what I asked
