Asking the questions that matter, but won't make a difference to my lap time, but will make a difference for my back 🤣

The 18x9" ET42 VS-5RS will need a 3mm spacer to clear the Brembo 350mm 6-pot GTS kit.

We haven't done any testing on the wilwood side for VW. Do you happen to have a .PDF to-scale template of the kit in question? If so, please email that to geirsen@apexraceparts.com and I can run it by our engineering team to check clearances.

Geirsen, I forwarded your information to Peter at 529innovations, who developed the wilwood kit four our cars. He has pdf to scale templates and emailed you. Were you able to get in touch with him?

I just got the email from Peter with the template. I will run it by our engineering team and post the results here. That said, it looks like there are a few different rotor sizes listed for this kit. Would you be able to confirm what specific rotor size you plan to run?

Following up!

I had our engineers go ahead and test the 340mm version of the kit, since 370mm and 380mm rotors won't clear 17" wheels. Using the 17x9" ET42 VS-5RS, there were no clearance issues whatsoever, so you will be good to go with that setup using a 340mm rotor.

Thats good to know! I have been waiting for the 18x9 vs5rs and was looking to run the 370/380mm rotors. Any info would be appreciated.

Whoops! I just realized you originally were asking about the new 18x9" ET42 VS-5RS. The 380mm kit interferes with the dropwell and requires a 13mm spacer to clear, so that rotor size will be a no-go for 99% of VW applications. However, the 370mm kit clears the dropwell by 3.5mm, so it is within spec to safely run without spacers. That said, it sounds like the 370mm kit will be the way to go if you plan to pick up a set of the new 18x9" ET42 wheels when they are available later this year!

@scrllock. Pretty sure it'll fit. Have the 350x34 on the APR (confirmed to fit) and the Paragon kit overlaid. To the same scale (you can see the 57.1mm is the same). Looks like the APR is just barely bigger.

Just realized my first image was dumb, didn't line it up correctly.
