My first DIY so bear with me. Anyway, i use the door map pockets for stuff. And at night i cant see anything. So i was cruising AliExpress and found Audi have these lights for the map pockets.
Here are the lights im talking about
How these door panels are built, there is really only one place they can really go. The plastic is very easy to cut with a sharp razor, and the lights
have tangs on them that keep them in place. So be careful not to make the whole to big, or the lights wont stay in place.
LEDs are not power hungry at all, so I spliced into the ambient light wiring already there. Yellow is positive, Black is negative.
Solder, headshrink, and wrap with some Tesa tape to make it look somewhat factory. I used Tesa to secure the wiring down the the light
itself. The foam insulation will also help keep the wiring in place.
At first, i didnt think my placement would light up the cubby enough. But it does nicely. Bright enough to see everything in the cubby,
but not so bright it draws your attention at night.
