Hi All,
I got a 2015 GTI SE DSG, LP. At 14,000 miles, The dreadful engine check light came on all of sudden.
This happened right after work and just about go home.
Drove to a VW dealer in Hawthorne, CA. While driving to the dealer, the car exhibited no weird symptoms.
I got the car back today. The report says:
14167 scanned for faults and found p11la800 and p11ac00 for cam solenoids...ran gff test plan..found faulty "b" solenoids in cylinders 2 and 3...internal malfunction...replaced "b" cam solenoids for cylinders 2 and 3...cleared dtcs....set basic settings...road test ok...no further malfunction.
Is this a common problem? Do I need to worry about the solenoids in cylinders 1 and 4?
Your help and expertise are appreciated.
When I traded in a perfectly running, trouble free 2011 Toyota Avalon, I kind of knew that I would expect some surprises in VW vehicles.
