GTI, what top up oil?

Read the owners manual and use the oil it says,

EDIT:the oil specs are shown in your service book.

If dealer close, just buy a quart of oil from them if not sure what to get. Should last a good while. At same time buy some coolant incase you need to top or just add some distilled water. Coolant might drop at 10,000. Small refill needed. After that never a issue.

With VW service records in the UK having gone digital, owners no longer get a service book.

This is what I would do.

Totally forgot that the service records had gone fully digital, I’d be surprised though if you did not receive something stating the oil spec, best way though as said is to ask your dealer.

My 19 R has a sticker which states my vehicle uses 0W-30.
That's too thin an oil for Florida in my opinion. Having lived in Great Britain for 4 years (05/88 - 04/92), I'd run 5W-30 fully synthetic Castrol.
