General Insurance price

So this is a question for the younger drivers out there so I can get a basic idea of how my insurance will look like. I'm 18 and currently work two jobs that allowed me to pay for my MK5 GTI when I was 16 and I pay about $200 a month for insurance which is affordable. Now I've decided to get a new car, and I can do so because I still live with my parents while I go to school so I have no real expenses so is anyone around my age in a MK6 R willing to tell me how much you pay for insurance or even an MK7 GTI.

Have you tried calling an auto insurance company and asking for a quote?

When I was in the US (till late 2013...), the best price was thru AAA. Granted I am so far removed from 18 that it seems like eons ago, but in MA I paid roughly $1k a year for an Infiniti G37x with top coverage in every category.
