Gear Selector backlighting next to Shifter

Hello all!

The light went out underneath the lower center console gear indicator next to the shifter (where the P, N, D, and such are, not the buttons). Does anyone have a part number for the bulb under there? I don’t want to take it apart until I have the replacement, unless I have to. I’ve searched quite a bit but have found nothing.

I have a 2016 Mk7 GTI.

Had the same problem. The panel is lit by a LED circuit board which is part of the shift boot trim. That part isn't available separately. Get it fixed under warranty if you still can.
