No need to really worry about it, even if EPB completely fails, having the DSG into P will hold the car in almost every case... Despite that, it is always a good idea, to have the wheels turned towards the curb, when parked downhill, and towards the road when uphill... This way, even if both EPB and DSG fail to hold the car, the curb will not fail to

Yeah, don't be thinking handbrake failures are anything new because of EPB; old school handbrakes are no better/worse. Guy at work had his Volvo commit suicide by rolling away from its parking space and flying into a wall; even though the old skool handbrake was fully applied.

Honest John is just a dinosaur. Read any of his car reviews - first comment is always whether it's a good old-fashioned chain cam. If he had his way we'd still have manual chokes, vacuum operated wipers and indicator knobs on the dashboard.

I've had various autos over many years.
Putting the car in P is the most reliable way of preventing it from moving.
Something quite disastrous would have to happen for P to fail.
