maybe we just need to quit trying to nonstop push the envelope for shock value, and stop treating kids like they're prepared for the real world."We need to protect our children from vulgarity!" says the politico, meanwhile their 13 year old back home is messing around with their SO.
Agreed, but that's your job, not the governments.maybe we just need to quit trying to nonstop push the envelope for shock value, and stop treating kids like they're prepared for the real world.
Not a parent, but I think maybe exposing kids to the entirety of the internet isn't a brilliant move. Being an active and involved parent isn't easy, but it's what's necessary.
oh and get familiar with how to use a VPN
I thought you went O'Steens. My bad.I bought mine at St. Augustine VW. O'Steen is pretty good for getting work done, but their mk8 prices have been higher than others in the area from what I've seen.
Going to try to walk this rule 1 tightrope.....maybe we just need to quit trying to nonstop push the envelope for shock value, and stop treating kids like they're prepared for the real world.

Agreed until the end of time. The expectation that schools should teach your kids about taxes, cooking, religion, all that -- why aren't parents teaching their kids stuff like that at home?Agreed, but that's your job, not the governments.
Totally. A ton of mk8’s for sale here. Moar supply is niiiiice.I thought you went O'Steens. My bad.
It's crazy how many VW dealerships we have within an hour. OP, O'Steens, St. Aug, Tom Bush, and what's the one out near Callihan?
Maybe that's why prices are lower?
And I 100% agree, no way would I ever want to tie my real world identity to things I do online, regardless of the content in question.Going to try to walk this rule 1 tightrope.....
The issue here are the restrictive laws requiring age verification beyond just the "yes I'm 18" button we all hit when we were 14. Pornhub is saying in order to be compliant with the new laws they would be required to have people enter their drivers license/state ID numbers.
I'm with PH on this one. I don't want my license directly tied to all the animal clown videos I'm watching.
Meanwhile in Europe everything other channel has hardcore porn on at night. It's another glimmer of this weird puritanical line that runs through America where how good of a person you are is directly related to how many things you don't do that everyone else does. (Also see: vegans)
You've hit the nail on the head. It's another chip in our privacy where it begins to normalize connecting your real identity with what you do online. The question isn't really about porn, or where I imagine the next law will come from, social media in order to combat "fake profiles". It's about our anonymity and privacy when on the internet. And I 100% agree, no way would I ever want to tie my real world identity to things I do online, regardless of the content in question.
Just remember, it's absolutely fucked that there's an entire industry built on separating you from the fruits of your labor. Be aware of marketing and ads, and the strategies used to try to sway your dollar. Because at the end of the day, it's all about money, power, and control; sometimes not in a way that's immediately obvious. Somewhere out there, somebody's getting their whole livelihood based on influencing your decisionmaking and priorities.
I'm so much happier than I used to be, being off of social media. I'm gonna join you on the tightrope here: I don't know how most anybody on this forum votes. What ideologies they support, what they feel about 2A and women's rights and all that. What I know is that we've got common ground and that we can have a lot of fun together, and making friends with people from all over the place gives me hope that maybe people aren't quite as fucked up as the world would make you believe.
Found my kid added pornhub and TikTits to his “always allowed” list after he figured out the pin. Had been trying to have “the talk” for a while now…maybe we just need to quit trying to nonstop push the envelope for shock value, and stop treating kids like they're prepared for the real world.
