Retrofitting Lane assist camera without changing windshield?

Coding was not setup, but at first I was able to code. I am not sure if the parameterization is there or not. I will try to update software and add parameterization then.

Regarding HBA cover, yeah I need to buy new cover since HBA cover does not fit the cabling cover.

Do you guys have a long code for 3Q0 to share?

Thanks,

Now after watching your logs i see this error "0518 - invalid data record " which means there are no parameters, you will have to upload them.

coding is the last thing you need to worry about xD, its the easiest part.
the current coding of the camera should be close enough so that some stuff will work, you will need to modify it a bit.

I guess I am updating the software of the module to L variant since I also have the parameters for that variant.

Good afternoon, I have Golf GTI 2015, and came equipped with ACC and FLA. After taking a look at the forum, I was interested in installing the system of Lane assit, currently purchased the following materials:
Flat cable
flat splice
car / module connection cable (A5)
5q0 980 653 g module
3q0 980 654g module
black cover GTI Trim 5NA 868 437
module support (pending)
make the calibrator.

Note: I have a doubt: I saw in some comment that it would be necessary to launch a CAM network cable for ACC! The cable I bought already has a braided cable from the network can! Will you need another twisted cable for CAM network?

thanks

I bought this cable (photo in the attachment) that comes with the Cam network wires, will it be necessary to buy another CAM cable for ACC? I remember that my car already has factory ACC.

That looks like the cable I bought as well. We have almost 50cm of snow on the ground here so working on the car is out of the question for a while, but my take on the cable is that there is a pair of twisted CANBUS wires that will extend through the firewall to the ACC radar out front. The other connectors will connect to harnesses or other wires in the left-side footwell near the hood release lever (on LHD cars).

So from what I understand, it will be necessary beyond the cable I bought will need to launch the pair of wires coming out of the firewall to the ACC sensor, is that it?

I think something might be betting lost between Google Translate, or your English, or my Portuguese (which is zero). :D
I'll try again:
If that harness is same as mine (I think it is), I think we do not need extra wires. That harness includes wires (the ones with the red silicone sealing plugs) which go through firewall and connect to ACC radar

Update: I have a working system with the following:

1) Lane assist with traffic jam assist. Also adaptive lane assistance is working great.
2) Sign assist/traffic sign assist is not working. I couldn't figure this one out even though I followed instructions in various websites. Some help would be appreciated.
3) Head light assist is working great with no issues.

Issues:
1) I tried 40cm and 30cm cables. 40cm cable did not work. 20 cm + 20 cm cable did not work. 30cm cable works and in a short period of time gives errors. So I call 30cm cable is not working for 3q0 cameras.
2) Every time I start the car, I have to enable lane assist. It does not remember the last setting. I checked several things and I couldn't find any solution. Any help is appreciated.
3) I was doing 3-hour weekend trips, and during these trips, I sometimes added some weight to test lane assist with adaptive lane guidance, and sometimes I get an ACC not available error. I have to stop and restart the car to enable all these features. It takes from 1-1.5 hour drive to get this error. Maybe keeping weight constantly triggers some internal checks and errors ACC.
4) Since 20cm is not long enough for the module to be hidden inside the roof trim, I have ordered front camera cover. This seems to be the only way unless I cut some pieces on the module and on the roof to create space which I won't do.
5) Car moves within 3 seconds if the car does full stop. I couldn't find any setup to increase that value. I hear people have 15seconds, 50 seconds, even 2 minutes. I'd prefer longer times.

I bought the camera cover and support (waiting to arrive), but I believe that the distance between the module and the camera will be perfect. it would be the best of all worlds if I could take part of the dark area of the breeze and install the camera there, as original! Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

As recounted earlier in this thread (lots to read through, I know, particularly in a foreign language), the dark area of the windscreen is apparently black paint or other black material pressed between the two sheets of glass. So unfortunately, there is no way to scrape the "dark area" off.

Way back (early December), I mentioned that I (along with Reaper1) were in the position of having the "wrong" windshield installed in our cars - we have LRR for ACC, and that will apparently only work with 5Q0 camera, but we ended up with windshield with the 3Q0 camera bracket. :(

I was hoping that maybe we could take the camera "guts" out of the 5Q0 camera and put it into the 3Q0 body and mount that into our new pristine (and pricey) windshields. The 3Q0 camera finally arrived and....things do not look good. Below are some photos of the two units, showing relative sizes and dimensions and positions of connector.

For quick reference in looking at these two, the 5Q0 unit has the more square body/housing and larger camera (roughly 17.60mm diameter vs. the 3Q0's 13.3mm diameter

answer me a question! I ended up not understanding <Does the 3Q0 unit not work in the 2015 GTI with ACC? Does it only work at 5Q0 in GTI 2015?

good evening everyone, my name is Nazario, I need some information on the Lane Assist connection. I have a golf mk 7.5 from 2018 with ACC and photochromic rear view mirror.

in the attached photos I show you the material in my possession.
