Discovery Pro and Text Messages

Before visiting my dealer, anyone throw any light on this:

The Discover Pro hand book show how to receive and send text messages. (It's the receiving I'm interested in.) There is an envelope icon shown in a screen-shot in the handbook at the bottom of the phone contacts. This does not appear on mine.

I have Mobile Phone Preparation Premium and tried with both an iPhone 4s and iPhone 5. I have not yet tried it will a SIM card in the slot in the glove box...

My understanding is that your phone must have RSAP to get text message display on the nav. iPhones do not support RSAP.

Kevinm is correct. I do have a SIM card on the slot and the SMS's do get display as the manual says. You can read them and of course write them from the discover pro.

iPhone does not support the rsap. I also use iPhone.

I have solved the problem by using sim card from an old pre-paid phone from a drawer! The card not only receives text messages - it will read them out too
