Alright....I ran three logs with George's latest suggested setting in Map 6.

Ambient temp was 50 degrees tonight.

Here is the first run. Seems pretty good to me, minus the dip in Ign1 around 4300rpm.

https://datazap.me/u/stuntnuts/map-6-10-16-1?log=0&data=1-3-4-11-14-18&zoom=67-140

On the second run, Ign1 got crazy. No idea why....

Third run....again, Ign1 around 4300rpm goes to hell.

I mentioned this to George, and he didn't really seem concerned and said most 1.8T's dip around there, but from what I've seen, none fall as bad as mine does.

I can't wait to get back to the drag strip. This map was made a long time ago and pretty quickly, but I still ran a 107 mph in the quarter mile with it. If I really left that much on the table and I get better tires that won't spin through 2nd I might have a shot at putting down a solid time and speed.

I should be hitting the track this Saturday with just the JB4 and an intake. Wish I had time to install the rest of the parts here.

I think ign1 is more important to look at overall. Compare it to what the tune did alone. If you see it losing too much in an area, then that’s where too much boost is. Your boost is almost identical to what I’m running, but I know APR has there own ignition curve that is lower than stock. You may have a little bit left, but the timing advance doesn’t look the best. You might be maxed out I think you were getting up to 14 degrees advance on the base tune. Compare the peak boost area as well. I’m not sure you want to lose any more. I think it’s just the downpipe that’s going to hold it back from more.

I Just looked back and I am perfectly matched to even pre-turbo map 4 timing (and very slightly better than map 4 91 IS20). The most I've lost is 0.5-1 degree in warmer weather. I was pretty conservative, even with my high boost e85 tuning mostly because it was still in the early days and we didn't really know what happens when you push it. The next time I get some e85 I'll try pushing it until I actually begin to loose timing, or probably more likely loose clutch.

So I finally got around to making adjustments per George's recommendations and got in a few logs tonight.

All done with about 5-10 minutes apart, ambient temperature was around 64 degrees F.

Here's the first log...

https://datazap.me/u/stuntnuts/map-6-10-19-1?log=0&data=1-3-4-11-14-18

Second log...

https://datazap.me/u/stuntnuts/map-6-10-19-2?log=0&data=1-3-4-11-14-18

And the third log...

https://datazap.me/u/stuntnuts/map-6-10-19-3?log=0&data=1-3-4-11-14-18

The good news is that on the third log, Ign2, Ign3, and Ign4 stayed below 2 the entire run.

I'm waiting to hear back from George, but I think we are getting close to dialing this thing in....and then the IS20 goes in. :D

Few questions want to ask:
1. if you upgrade to golf R fuel injector to use with IS38, then you cannot use any off the shelf tune software? My only concern is about the speed limited by the stock tune.

2. Any extra hardware requires for upgrading golf R fuel injectors? 4 of them cost 288$ vs ~600$ for APR tune

You’ll have to ask Arin, by don’t hold your breath for a reasonable answer. When we asked about plug and play with the gti and R injectors, he was adamant that they wouldn’t work without a special custom tune designed for them. Ironshade and I both call d BS on him and he tried to prove us wrong with his typical APR puppetry. George proved him wrong showing they were plug and play. The issue is that an APR tune increases the fueling of the stock injectors. If you put on the R injectors, you could have fueling issues. With a JB4 you won’t have issues. Me personally don’t need to go past 122-124 mph range.

My new setting I’m trying out with the IS20. See if anyone pics up on it. Ironshade is not allowed to answer 651AE15D-41C1-41F6-B20D-ECABCD4CB38D.jpeg

Twindad are those absolute or additive settings?

If absolute, doesn't the RPM 1500 number need to be 10 or greater?

If additive, those targets blow my mind.
