Long Term Spark Plug Thoughts

I've never gapped less than what they come as BUT I'm running a Uni tune....less boost/more advance than many tunes AND Uni says just run stock plugs/stock gap. That's been my experience. I've run Denso IKH24s and NGK RS7 to try the colder heat range as well as NGK stockers and the now legendary Rutheniums...no real difference I can discern between any of them at the stock gap.

My guess is tuners recommend the narrower gap because they can't control the maintenance level of every car they tune. Narrower gap increases the odds of success over a larger population, and ideally fewer complaints/questions.

As others have said, if it ain't broke on your car, don't fix it.

II've been getting the Ruthenium from Rock Auto for $8.25 ea including mailing. Last bought 2 months ago so wouldn't be surprised if they've gone up.

Yes but too much money - get them from Rock Auto for 1/2 that.

I honestly don't know. I just followed the recommendation since joining the forum. Someone should test.

How are the ruths vs the NGK laser platinum? I'm running the NGK laser platinum gapped to .22 and still get misfires could be the plugs (its not bad but comes up every few days)
