$25,101 sales price with $27,006 out the door. On a 2017 gti sport automatic. The tax is $1,500.

MSRP is $29,900 for the auto, so yes I'd say it's a great deal.

Yeah that's a tough comparison

SE has the leather, sunroof, fogs, Fender, etc....but is more money and the PP (on a 2016) and LP aren't standard

Sport has the PP standard & has the HID's, but less features for less money

Depends on which features you want and/or value

Does the US version of the Sport have the silly 290hp for 10 seconds?

No, the 2017 Sport is a trim level, not a different model offering. The GTI Clubsport / Clubsport S, which has the 10 second "overboost" function you're speaking of, is its own model. The Clubsport is a track-ready GTI from the factory, with revised suspension, aerodynamics, and the engine/turbo combo from the Golf R.

The Sport trim GTI is essentially an S model GTI with PP, LP, and KESSY.

I would say that it is a good deal. Compared to my '16 s 6mt (non lp non pp) that I paid 24995(23500 plus 1500 Georgia tax) you are getting the dsg,lp and pp for 2k more which is a good price.
