You could also just buy a battery cover with the flap. They are cheap, used on eBay or new from China.

Can confirm later 2017's don't have a cover. My co-worker's got a late 2017 S and it doesn't. Another has an '18 and doesn't either.

My early build 2017 Sport has a cover.
