Poly control arm bushing any good?

I had car lowered with Eibach ProKit Springs (25mm) at 13,000 miles. At around 34,000 had noise issues that after much investigation and other parts changed was found to be my LCA's. Both. The OE rubber bushing with voids molded in was torn in a couple places and allowed the LCA to move so much it hit other metal parts making the noise even on light bumps.
I thought about the ECS red bushings but they had a 1 month back order in early 2017. I went with Supaloy and had the entire arm replaced. Supaloy makes an aluminum alloy arm with their design bushings. Best decision to date. They are great and all noise gone. How long will they last on lowered car? We will see but likely longer than OE.
Check to see if Supaloy sell bushings for OE arm replacement.
The ECS is an option. I can not say how they will do but likely better than OE. Others have looked at this maybe they will offer feedback on noise.

I say replace with something.
LCA to me is a bad design on OE bushings.

Supaloy. Good but costly.

Wow, yeah those look really nice! I can imagine they make a big difference because they look like they were properly engineered.

As for the bushings, if they may end up being squeaky then that is a no go for me.

Just keep an eye on the LCA.
If lowered or even stock might wear.
Watched an 8 year old video on a GTI.
Same issue as mine had. Tearing bushing.

Simply beautiful. :)

BUT

Sandman, you need both the A3/CSS subframe and an engine bay undertray instantly.

After years they'll look like any aluminium control arm (e.g. on S3, TT, Passat, Tiguan),
but that's still better than those rusty steel LCAs look like.

The subframe would look good.
What does the under tray look like?
The last time in my dealer Service Agent and Mechanic suggested a metal oil pan. Nice to hear my dealer is a little mod friendly.

I hope they hard anodized those control arms. The coating and corrosion engineer in me is shouting "cover it up".

Not sure if coated.
The order install was quick so not much time to inspect.
After a summer now they still look new.
Tennessee winters are not hard so salt not a big issue here.

I have stock steel LCAs with the SuperPro poly bushings. Sharper steering and less wheel hop. One of my favorite upgrades.

I agree it'd likely look like standard aluminum LCAs over time, assuming it has some treatment, as those aluminum LCAs (and even the steel ones) you mentioned likely do. Always interested to know what aftermarket does for making sure it delivers on "corrosion resistant" promises is all.

I agree.
These look very cool.
I question their durability/corrosion resistance though... How is one to know?

Don't worry, Sandman. If they should show some corrosion after years
of sevice, either ignore it or repolish them and have them clearcoated.
They definitely won't fall apart next 20 years or so.
If the SP arms are forged (as the factory alu arms are), the surface is
quite dense anyway. I wouldn't even wonder if SP already clearcoated
them. It's certainly a quality piece.
