Can someone tell me the difference between all the jb4 groups? Why can't I put a group 5 jb4 into a Golf R?

Well, group 1, 2, and 3 are all the same. I have no idea about groups 4-6, but I would have thought they are also at least very similar. Someone more knowledgeable than me will have to answer for those.

I thought so too. It is the same firmware and eventually the same connectors. Now I have group 5 and it would be great if it was interchangeable.

Was I dreaming or did I read somewhere that a self adjusting map/firmware update was on the way?

I meant 1.8T's. Dynos on them are relatively scarce to find.

Im stock 1.8 TSI right now, I will have some Dyno info to put up for you guys soon I hope (Im going to ask for a re-run on my crappy dyno run from last week). That should give me results for Stock, MAP 1, and MAP 2.

This week, I will be doing a MAP 2 Road log and send that off to George to help me Tweak.

Once the weather gets better (In the next month or so), I will be swapping on an IS20, APR DP, and Hopefully a High flow cat back. I don't have plans for the intake side yet. But I am looking at Unitronic's, and APR's options.

Ultimately I want to be in the 300 - 350 HP range.

Heres a Dyno of Stock and the old JB1 Map 1.

Currently running a stacked JB4 on the IS12 stage 2 software from APR. Planning on upgrading to APR IS20 93 tune, and then seeing what power i can add from that.

Theirs 3 logs in that link....

94 Octane cts catless downpipe is20, Temperature outside: 1 degree Celsius or 34 Fahrenheit

those were my settings before winter started, now that springs rolling around , im wondering what can i hit ? im pretty sure max ive done is 22psi peak 17 psi taper, but i think timing took a hit , thats in the winter though... I put my is20 on before winter so i haven't had time to properly set a summer map... whats everyones elses settings no ethanol... 94 octane contains 10% eth i believe.

23 psi log https://datazap.me/u/crees9/is20-94-oct-23-psi?log=0&data=1-2-3-4-6-9-11-12-14-18

log 21 is base map 4 : https://datazap.me/u/crees9/log-1506225059?log=0&data=1-2-3-4-6-9-11-12-14-18

can u send me settings? also u do this i assume during summer time... in the winter i peak around 20 PSI but the pull doesn't feel the same as my 23 PSI map... issue was timing is taking a hit for me .... but i believe its because it was winter time and air was denser so less psi=more power.

Your timing is getting creamed on the 23 psi. More boost isn't better. You'd be better off lowering your target to 20 and carrying a more linear boost curve. The amount of timing loss is probably causing a huge power loss. You are only hitting 0.5-1 degrees at peak boost. You should be up around 8+ degrees st that point

by any change is the reason why 23psi is getting creamed is because of the 30 fahrenheit weather?

I am running that in the spring and summer until it gets into the 80’s for temps. I run 20 psi peak in the winter or less when temps drop into the low 20’s. I should also mention that I run E85 mix to keep timing in check. Right now it is high 30’s low 40’s outside and I am running 20 psi peak.
