We can debate the funding, and I think it should be watched.

But there are some bright young people working on this.
Similar to the work in the 60's by young people at that time.

For the young generation this is your moon shot!
Lot of rics with this heavy lift so hopefully it goes well.

They plan to land all three 1st stage rockets to reclaim them.
The third rocket will land on a barge out at sea.
I think too far for it to return this one to land.
They have been practicing this for a while.

My Nephew is over the 2nd stage rocket.
I am not sure how far to Mars this engine will travel.

I'd be surprised now if it did in fact land.
Just watched it again and there is a second where you can still see through some of the smoke and it does not look like anything is on the pad.

Just read.
The center core rocket did not land on barge.
When returning the rocket is to fire 3 engines to slow down.
Only 1 engine fired.

Hit water at 300mph.

It did make a good splash.

I work (until next week) there for the Air Force and can tell you that they are pretty wicked when you are close. I was there when they had the failure over a year ago on the static fire and the entire complex went up in flames. I'll post up the mission patches whenever I get them unpacked and I should receive this one in time as well. Perks of working hand and hand with them on the daily.
