The Steering Wheel Thread

The MK6 Golf I had was not a GTI so I can't compare directly. To my eyes, there is no comparison between the MK6 and MK7 GTI steering wheels - the MK6 one looks cheap and plasticky. I do somewhat agree that the MK7 wheel is a bit too slippery though so perhaps the old one was better in that regard.

I saw somewhere there is a company that makes aftermarket steering wheels for our cars and they're really nice, albeit expensive. I cant find them anymore. Can someone push me in the right direction?

The Mk7 wheel feels more refined and grown up in my opinion. I think the Mk6 wheel appeals more to an enthusiast. I think VW tried to appeal more to different demographics (women etc.) and the Mk6 looked too sporty. I love how the material never gets overbearingly hot, which is a problem I would have with other leather wheels. I think the perforated leather on the Mk6 wheel looks so beautiful, but my personal tastes would pull me towards the mk7 wheel.
