Completely agree. The GTI has been though a lot of body style changes and each has its own draw.

I remember when the Mk5 original came out, having an MK4 Jetta i felt like the MK5 did not look as good. I did eventually get an MK5 but still feel the MK4 looks great nearly 2 decades later. The Mk5 hasn't aged as well IMO.

The mk5 is the only generation that I haven’t owned. I never really found them all too appealing, I don’t think I missed anything by skipping that one.
