Snap, Crackle and Pops without being "engaged"

Have an APR stage 2 with the pops and bangs but only when the DSG is engaged in "sport". Well supposed to be. Every once in a while I engage it for kicks but not every day or all the time. Recently I've noticed that when I let off above 3000 RPM or so I still have a very muted few pops. Any ideas?

Are they pops or burbles? Do you have a catback? I would assume catless DP wince stage 2? I get burbles with just a catback and stage 1+ from Uni when I let off the throttle above 3k, no "pops" though I could see how they would be recognized as muted pops

High flow cat, and yes, I could see them being more like burbles. Just haven't noticed it before. I was really hoping it wasn't a bad weld failing on the muffler
